How to Fest? (F. A. Q)

  1. WHEN AND WHERE IS THE 2023 INAUGURAL HONG KONG ON SCREEN FILM FESTIVAL TAKING PLACE?
The inaugural Hong Kong On Screen Film Festival (HKOSFF) runs from April 28 to 30, 2023, at the Starlight Whittier Village Cinemas.

  2. HOW DO I GET TICKETS?
Festival Tickets will only be available for purchase online and will not be available for purchase in person.  Service fees apply to all online orders.  Tickets may be purchased on our website by clicking the “Buy Tickets” button on our Festival program pages once the button is available.  After purchase, electronic tickets will be delivered via email.   Please bring your ticket (PRINTED or DIGITAL) to the film screening for admission.  The full festival program is available online at  https://www.hkonscreen.org/festival.

  3. WHAT IS THE PRICE OF A FESTIVAL TICKET?
Tickets for individual screenings are available for $18 each.  All-Access Festival Passes are available for just $130 and allow entry to all screenings for the whole festival.

  4. WHAT IS YOUR REFUND POLICY?
All sales are final.  No refunds will be given.  Exchanges are only available should a program be canceled.

  5. IS THERE A PHYSICAL PROGRAM GUIDE?
No.  The complete program schedule can be found online here.

  6. HOW DO I SPONSOR THE FILM FESTIVAL?
HKOSFF thrives on developing relationships with partners and allies who share our values.  Join us as we continue to uplift and connect our communities.  For more information on sponsorship opportunities, please contact the Director of Advancement at info@hkonscreen.org

  7. HOW DO I VOLUNTEER FOR THE FILM FESTIVAL?

If you are interested in volunteer opportunities, please sign up here.

  8. WHO CAN I ASK IF I NEED HELP AT THE VENUE?
Our venue is staffed by volunteers who can answer many of your questions.  They help make the Festival possible by donating their time, so please be patient and don’t forget to thank them for their efforts.

  9. DO YOU SHOW PREVIEWS?
We do not show any previews.  Screening starts within five minutes of the scheduled time.  However, the Festival is not liable for late starts.

  10. ARE THERE NY PANEL DISCUSSIONS?
Yes! Come and learn from the pros! We will be hosting a few panels immediately after the screenings.  Check our program for more details.

  11. WHAT CAN I EXPECT AT A SCREENING?
Incredible films that, in most cases, you wouldn’t get to see on the big screen outside of the festival, Q & A’s with visiting guests, VR experience of Lee Theatre, mingling, and FUN!

  12. HOW EARLY SHOULD I ARRIVE FOR A SCREENING?
We suggest arriving a minimum of 30 minutes before the screening begins.  Upon arrival at the venue, please look for the appropriate line based on your ticket.  There will be a line for ALL-ACCESS FESTIVAL PASS HOLDERS and a line for general admission TICKET HOLDERS.

ALL-ACCESS FESTIVAL PASS HOLDERS will have priority access and will gain entrance to the theatre thirty minutes prior to the screening.  Access to the theatre for general admission TICKET HOLDERS will begin 15 minutes before the screening on a first-come, first-served basis.

The PASS HOLDER LINE will be let in thirty minutes before a show begins.  After all have been left in from the PASS HOLDERS will go straight to the TICKET HOLDER LINE and be left on a first-come, first-served 15 minutes before the screening.

  13. WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING TO A SCREENING?
ALL-ACCESS FESTIVAL PASSHOLDERS: Just bring your pass! Pick up your physical pass with your name and barcode at our front desk.  We will accept printed confirmations too.

TICKETHOLDERS: Bring a printed ticket or use your phone to display the QR code for the screening or event.  The ticket must be attached to a specific film.
